The Big Bend State requires a person to be at least 16 years of age in order to become a licensed nail technician. Laws implemented by the Tennessee Board of Cosmetology deem it necessary for you to attend a course to obtain licensure as a manicurist. The training must last at least 600 hours and include both theory and practice in pedicuring and manicuring. The course must be approved by The Board. After training, you must complete a two-part examination consisting of a written test. Another part of the exam will be a practical examination.
