They also have the option to travel to another state to complete the training. By completing an apprenticeship or training in another state, you’ll learn the proper terminology to use in regards to the equipment and the procedure. In the “Mount Rushmore State”, you don’t need to pass any type of licensure exam. In fact, you don’t even need to obtain a license to practice as an electrolysis specialist in SD. Unlike many other states, the South Dakota Commission of Cosmetology doesn’t regulate permanent hair removal procedures. This means there isn’t a set number of hours you have to complete to practice as a permanent hair removal specialist in South Dakota. You’re not required to work under the supervision of a healthcare provider such as a physician or even a registered nurse.
