Choosing Your Maryland Fashion Design School

If you are preparing to enter fashion design school, you can earn a Fashion Certificate, an Associate’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion at one of several Maryland schools. Maryland fashion design programs average $21,000 per year. In Maryland, fashion design students receive scholarships averaging over $7000 per year and loans averaging over $8000 per year. Maryland fashion design schools accept just over 50% of the applicants. Class usually average only 15 students.

Some Maryland fashion design programs are very inventive. For instance, MICA, the Maryland Institute-College of Art, has a program within their Fiber Arts degree focusing on experimental fashion design. The Baltimore City Community College Fashion Design degree may train you to be a freelance fashion designer or to start a career in the fashion design business. The College also has an option to pursue a Fashion Retailing Degree. There is a Fashion Design Certificate available for you if you already have a degree in fashion, but want to upgrade your skills. This program was awarded a teaching excellence and innovative curriculum designation by the Textile Manufacturers Institute.
