Georgia Licensing Requirements

The state requires accredited cosmetology training to meet licensing requirements, but students enjoy great freedom in how they complete their educations.   • Nail Technician—525 hours of class study must be reinforced with 1,050 hours of apprenticeship.
  • People who have qualified in other states or countries that extend reciprocity to Georgia’s cosmetology graduates and have similar requirements for qualifying may receive a license by paying the appropriate fee without taking the examination.
