Cosmetologist Licensing in Delaware

To become a cosmetologist in Delaware, the Delaware State Board of Cosmetology requires that you attend a licensed beauty school and complete the required hours of training. You will also need to pass the written exams that are put forth by the Delaware State Board of Cosmetology after your successful completion of a cosmetology program. To receive a cosmetologist license, you will need to complete a total of 1,500 hours of instruction and training. To receive a nail tech license, you will need to complete 300 hours of instruction and training. An esthetician license requires that you complete at least 600 hours of training and instruction.

Cosmetologists are required to renew their licenses every two years in Delaware. Cosmetologists are not required to complete any continuing education credits in order to receive a renewal of their licenses.
