Cosmetology requirements in Missouri consist of a variety of things. You need to enroll in classes that are taught by a certified instructor at a licenses school. To obtain the license to be a cosmetologist, you need to take 1,500 hours of class work or 3,000 hours as an apprentice. A barber needs to attend classes for 1,000. A nail technician has to have 400 hours of class work. After the class work is completed, you will take an exam administered by the state. If you pass the exam, you will receive your license. Renewal occurs every two years. There is a fee, and the date of the expiration is September 30.
