During the course of your training, you’ll learn how to apply topical anesthetics, permanent cosmetic application for eyeliners, lip liners and beauty marks. In addition, you’ll also learn how to create permanent eyebrows,  enhance eyelashes and proper client consultation techniques to ensure your client knows how to care for their makeup. Color theory, how to mix color and anatomy are also part of the curriculum and will guide you in the procedures.

In California, makeup artists are expected but not required to be certified in micropigmentation, licensed and permitted with the Health Department and registered with the city in which they work.   According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,  anyone who performs body art in “The Golden State” must also be at least 18 years of age, have a current hepatitis B vaccination and have completed OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen training.  Clients are advised to look for all of these qualifications when choosing a technician to ensure the best results.
