Earn Your Alaska Esthetician License

Esthetics schools in Alaska provide students with at least 350 hours of classroom and hands on training. Other students elect to complete a 350-hour apprenticeship over a 6-12 month period. Following school or apprentice training, students must take written and practical exams to obtain their esthetician license through theĀ Alaska State Board of Cosmetology.

Licensed Alaskan estheticians should know how to sterilize work areas and equipment, evaluate client skin conditions and recommend treatments, and then apply those treatments. They have learned to apply cosmetic products and make up to improve client skin tone and appearance. Estheticians refer clients to doctors for serious skin problems. Most esthetics schools in Alaska use both classroom and hands-on instruction.
