Cosmetology Curriculum & Courses

The right program will offer you a chance to learn from highly skilled instructors who have experience in their area of expertise. The typical curriculum will feature courses in hair styling, hair care, shampooing, hair weaving, hair waxing, facial treatments, makeup application, professional etiquette, salon management and laboratory work. You can meet with an administrator if you have any questions regarding the job placement rates or exam passage rates of the school.

It is wise to spend time researching the course offerings and student organizations that a school has to offer, because these factors can greatly enhance your educational experience. You should also ask what employers your school works with, and how they help place students in the best position to succeed. And if you are concerned about cost (who isn’t?!) then you should also ask what types of financial aid they offer or scholarship opportunities that may be available.

The great thing about cosmetology training is that it can prepare you for such a variety of careers! And training is typically much shorter than many other types of education and degree programs.
